Personal Success: Don’t Forget To Dream

Children get it! Each night in a child’s mind there are spectacular visions of what is possible. But at some point in our youth, the dreaming stops and reality sets in.
But in the minds of the ultra-successful, the dreaming never stops. The vision of what is possible is constant.
Don’t be afraid to dream. If you don’t have a dream, it’s hard to turn your dream into a reality. If you don’t have a vision for what is possible, though it may realistically seem impossible, there’s no way you’ll ever achieve it. Walt Disney was quoted as saying “It’s kind of fun to do the impossible.” Don’t worry about what others say is possible. Don’t worry about your present reality. The only thing that matters is the vision of your own possibilities. Don’t be afraid to dream great dreams. Don’t be afraid to dream of a life that no one else has ever had. Don’t be afraid to dream of doing something that no one else has done. Don’t be afraid to dream of having something that no one else has ever had.
Greatness begins with dreams. Athletic success begins with a dream. Academic success begins with a dream. Business success begins with a dream. Leadership success begins with a dream. Parenting success begins with a dream. Financial success begins with a dream. Everything great that mankind has ever accomplished began with a dream.
If you want to achieve success in your own life and in your own endeavors, you have to go back to dreaming. Set aside some time each day to dream of the life that you want. Dream of where you’ll be in 5 years from now. Dream of where you’ll be in 20 years from now. And once you have the dream in mind, focus on it daily and become the kind of person that you will need to be in order to achieve that dream.
You did it as a child, and it’s time to do it again!
You were put here for a purpose, you are greater than you realize and your future will be filled with unlimited opportunities when you decide to become unstoppable.

My Passionate Little Guy
Have you ever seen a kid with their parents in the grocery store? If you have, then you undoubtedly have seen them throwing fits, usually in the cereal isle.
Here’s what happens: The child sees their favorite cereal box and the toys that are supposed to be inside. They then tell their parents that they must have the cereal in order to survive. Their parents then inevitably say “no” the first time the child asks for the cereal.
The child then raises their request to more of a demand. The parent, holding their ground, says “no” again. The child consequently screams at the top of their lungs and throws their bodies on the ground or cart acting as if their parents are horrible people if they don’t buy them the cereal they want.
Trying to calm them down, the parent attempts to reason with the child and explain why they shouldn’t have the cereal. However, the child is inconsolable. Finally, the parent picks up the box of cereal and places it in the cart.
The child wins!
Whatever it is that you want to accomplish, you must approach it with the same level of passion that children have in the cereal isle. As adults, we often run into a single stumbling block and immediately give up. Greatness as never been, and never will be, achieved without passion.
I’m not saying that you have to throw a fit every time something doesn’t go your way, but I am saying that you can’t give up as easily as the parent in the grocery store. Right this very minute, there are people with limited talent and skills that are living the life of their dreams because they have more passion than other people.
Ideally, a successful person would have talent, skill and passion. But in a battle between talent, skill and passion, passion will always prevail.
Decide today to go after your dreams with passion… as if your life depended on you accomplishing your goals. You’ll be amazed at how quickly the problems get resolved and how quickly others will get out of your way and stop holding your back.
